Austrian Conference on Men 2011

The Austrian Conference on Men 2011 deals with the diversity of masculinities. Different concepts of masculinity will be discussed in the light of the current social discourse in the field of work on men and masculinitiy issues. The event provides an appropriate setting for the presentation of research-based and practical concepts and approaches in the work on men. A critical discussion on conflicting fields and potentials for current men’s studies is to be stimulated.

The Austrian Conference on Men 2011 wants to open up a perspective that elaborates the complex relations between women and men as well as between different masculinities, and aims at analysing the interdependence with other social issues such as migration and social situation. From this, future-oriented policies are to be developed for the work on men and masculinity issues.
